Three Easton employees earned more than $200,000 in 2023. Here’s all the data

EASTON — Three town employees grossed more than $200,000 in 2023, according to town payroll data.

Police Lt. Keith Nunes led the way in compensation, earning $288,725. As he did in previous years, Nunes earned big by working a lot of overtime. His OT haul of $129,764 came close to matching his base pay of $143,804. Joining him in the plus-$200K club this year were Town Administrator Connor Read and Superintendent of Schools Lisha Cabral.

This year’s top 10 included two new names: Police Sgt. Brian Humenuk, who pulled $44,398 in overtime to crack the list, and Stephen Legendre, an electrician who made nearly his base pay putting in extra hours to the tune of $73,401 in OT.

At a press conference at the Easton public safety building on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, Easton Police Lt. Keith Nunes shows an ATV that was used in the rescue of Emma Tetewsky, 31, of Stoughton, at Borderland State Park on Monday, July 3, 2023. Tetewsky had been stuck in the mud for upwards of three days.

Also in the top 10 were department leaders whose names you’d expect. They include Police Chief Keith Boone and Fire Chief Justin Alexander. Here’s the list:

Details, details

For public employees around the state and nation, working details like directing traffic at construction sites can add significant bucks to their bottom lines. Unlike last year, no Easton workers made more than six figures from “other earnings,” a category the town uses that includes details and other types of pay as outlined above.

The “other earnings” category includes details, where a person directs traffic at construction sites and in other situations. “Other earnings” also includes vacation time buyback, longevity bonuses, stipends and other pots of money, according to a list provided by Town Treasurer/Collector Linda J. Hawkes. She previously told the Enterprise that the town was not able to run a report breaking out each type of “other earnings.” To find who else made big bucks on details in 2023, use the database embedded below.

Explore the data yourself

The database contains much more than we can present here in print. The data includes anyone that Easton paid at least a dollar in calendar year 2023. Please note that some earnings, such as traffic details at construction sites, come from private companies, not Easton taxpayers.
