156 cited during bicycle, pedestrian safety operation


FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Fresno Police Department announced Monday that 156 people were cited during a bicycle, and pedestrian safety operations on Friday, according to the Fresno Police Department.

Police say they issued 65 citations for various violations made by drivers during a bicycle and pedestrian safety operation: 65 drivers were cited for violations and 91 pedestrians and cyclists were cited for various code violations.

This city-wide enforcement operation in Fresno started at noon on Friday and finished at 10 p.m.

Additionally, 69 drivers were contacted during this safety enforcement operation, according to police.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
