Residential building permits up nearly 11% in NWA through Q1


FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Residential building permits for single-family homes in the four largest cities in Northwest Arkansas are up around 11% from the first three months of 2024, according to Talk Business & Politics.

The NWA Business Journal collected permit data from each city and found there were 404 residential building permits issued in the first quarter in Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers and Springdale, up from 365 in the same period of 2023.

The permits through March have a combined value of more than $150 million, a jump of 25.1% from the $120.2 million in 2023’s first quarter.

Here’s the number of permits for each city in the first quarters of 2023 and 2024:

  • Fayetteville: 199 permits, $67.80 million (2024); 133 permits, $34.46 million (2023).

  • Springdale: 110 permits, $33.46 million (2024); 40 permits, $11.09 million (2023).

  • Rogers: 50 permits, $21.66 million (2024); 94 permits, $32.89 million (2023).

  • Bentonville: 45 permits, $27.53 million (2024); 98 permits, $41.76 million (2023).

TB&P said Centerton building officials issued 152 single-family permits in Q1 of 2024, up nearly 27% compared to the 120 permits issued in Q1 of 2023.
