Cork face Clare in Munster senior hurling championship

Hurling

After both counties lost last weekend, there’s a lot on the line for the senior hurlers of Cork and Clare today.

Their Munster championship round-robin game begins at Páirc Uí Chaoimh at 2pm.

That match is followed in the province by the meeting of All-Ireland champions Limerick and Tipperary at the Gaelic Grounds from 4pm.

In the Leinster senior hurling championship, Galway and Kilkenny clash at Pearse Stadium from 2pm.

In the Joe McDonagh Cup, Kerry and Down go into battle at Austin Stack Park from 1pm.

Football

The second Ulster senior football championship semi-final sees Donegal play Tyrone at Celtic Park, with throw-in at 2pm.

There’s also a Leinster senior football semi-final double header at Croke Park today.

Kildare and Louth go head-to-head at 1.45pm.

And then provincial kingpins Dublin face Offaly from 4pm.

Women’s football

All-Ireland champions Dublin go to Portlaoise for a meeting with Laois in the Leinster Championship.

The other game sees Meath play Kildare at Pairc Tailteann.

Both games throw in at 2pm.

Soccer

Premier League

The Premier League title race has another chapter today, with Arsenal and Manchester City both in action.

Arsenal hold a one-point lead over City at the top going into the north London derby away to Tottenham.

That game has a 2pm kick off.

City are away to Nottingham Forest, with 4.30pm the start time at the City Ground.

The other game of the day sees Bournemouth play Brighton from 2pm.

Scottish Premiership

In the Scottish Premiership today, Rangers kick off away to St Mirren from 12.30.

At 3pm, it’s leaders Celtic away to Dundee.

Golf

Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry are in a tie for third place going into the final round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

The Irish pair are 21-under par in the team competition, two shots behind leaders Zac Blair and Patrick Fishburn.

Snooker

At the World Championship in Sheffield, seven-time champion Ronnie O’Sullivan is currently three frames to two up on Ryan Day in their second round match.

Stephen Maguire is now 12-8 ahead in his encounter with Shaun Murphy and requires one more frame for victory.
