LANCASTER − Some on social media in the last few years have expressed their desire for the fast-food restaurant Chick-Fil-A to open a location here.
They may get their wish as the company says it’s in the early stages of opening Lancaster location.
Spokeswoman Gabriana Filice said city’s first Chick-fil-A is planned for North Memorial Drive.
“We look forward to working through the approval process with the city of Lancaster, and we are excited by the prospect of joining this community and serving guests delicious food in an environment of genuine hospitality,” she said via email.
Filice said the company will release more details as they become available. She did not give a time frame as to when the new business may open.
The restaurant specializes in chicken.
Founder Truett Cathy opened his first location in 1946 in Hapeville, Georgia. The company has been closed on Sundays since then.
Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Breakfast is served from 6 to 10 a.m. Lunch and dinner are from 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m.
The company says those hours may vary by location, however.
