Police investigating ‘possible road rage incident’ that left 2 injured in Murfreesboro


MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities have blocked off a road in Murfreesboro Saturday night in order to investigate a shooting involving a motorist and some motorcyclists.

At 9:05 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, the Murfreesboro Police Department announced on social media that South Rutherford Boulevard was closed from Southeast Broad Street/Manchester Highway to Church Street amid the investigation into the “possible road rage incident.”

According to officials, during the incident — which involved the driver of an SUV and a group of people riding motorcycles — shots were fired and two people were hit. Both individuals were brought to the hospital, but there is no word on their conditions at this time.

Meanwhile, police said they took the SUV driver into custody, but they did not share the driver’s identity or information about potential charges.
