Durham police say a 16-year-old boy who was shot Thursday afternoon on Truman Street died at the hospital.

It was one of at least three, and possibly four, shooting incidents on Thursday.

Officers responded around 4 pm to the shooting in the 1200 block of Truman Street and found the boy who had been shot, according to a news release.

He was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.

Police did not provide any other details such as the boy’s name or any possible suspect information.

5 p.m. Fayetteville Street

Shortly before 5 pm, police responded to a shooting near the intersection of Fayetteville Street and Linwood Avenue.

Officers did not find any victims at the scene but soon afterward a man and a boy who had been shot arrived at a local hospital in a private vehicle. Both had what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Another man who had also been shot arrived at a local hospital around the same time. He also had non-life-threatening injuries.

6 p.m. Pettigrew Street

Shortly after 6 p..m., pPolice responded to a sound of shots call in the 300 block of West Pettigrew Street.

A short time later, an adult male who had been shot arrived at the nearby bus terminal on foot. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening.
