Women in Beaver County who are pursuing law degrees are being encouraged to apply for a scholarship being offered to applicants in the region.

The Beaver Valley Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is now accepting applications for their Effie M. Solomon Scholarship. The award, which is named after a notable Beaver County lawyer, will provide $2,5000 to a woman currently enrolled at an accredited law school.

The scholarship is open to all residents of western Pennsylvania communities who have completed at least one year of law school. Additional information about the scholarship can be found at the AAUW website or prospective applicants can email maralee@zoominternet.net for more details.

All applications must be returned by May 20, 2024.
