A 7-year-old Georgia girl who was reported missing March 29 and had been taken to Puerto Rico was found safe Saturday, according to FBI Atlanta.
FBI Atlanta, the Lyons Police Department and authorities in Puerto Rico located Stella Brannen Salter at a retail store in Puerto Rico around noon Saturday. She was with her non-custodial mother, Wendy Salter. Wendy Salter has been charged with interstate interference with child custody and will be extradited to Georgia.
Before she was found, Stella Brannen Salter had last been seen in Metter, about 65 miles from Savannah. Authorities had suspected her mother took her to Puerto Rico.
