Florida GOP officer George Riley found after going missing

George Riley, who was selected in March to return as executive director for the Florida Republican Party, was found by law enforcement after going missing for two days.

Osceola County Sheriff’s Office posted on social media that Riley, 43, was reported missing on April 3 near Centerview Boulevard. When he went missing, he was driving a Black Ford Expedition.

The sheriff’s office posted on social media Friday evening that Riley was found safe. Sheriff Marcos R. Lopez and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office thanked the community for help in locating Riley.

According to the Florida Republican Party website, Riley began his career as a field staffer in Tampa in 2008. Since then, he has served in several positions.

He’s worked as a regional field manager, the director of party development, and was the political director for the 2014 election cycle. From 2016 to 2019, he served as executive director.

Since 2020, he has served as executive director for Conservatives for Clean Energy-Florida and as a senior advisor to the Republican Party until he was tapped in March to serve as executive director again.

The Florida Republican Party website says that Riley is a graduate of Gettysburg College and resides in Tallahassee with his two daughters. Osceola County is roughly a four-hour drive from Tallahassee.
