Midtown cat cafe vandalized, one cat is now missing

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (KFOR) – A cat cafe in midtown was vandalized over the weekend and now the owners are desperately trying to find one of their missing cats.

Adam Fitzpatrick is the owner of Don’t Stress Meowt Cafe and he said they just took in the cat, named Phoebe, hours before she went missing.

Fitzpatrick said Phoebe had just arrived on Friday evening and was only there for about seven hours before a rock was thrown through a window in their cat lounge overnight.

Fitzpatrick said the rock made the perfect ‘cat sized’ hole and Phoebe was able to escape.

This comes on the heels of the cafe’s one year anniversary and Fitzpatrick said he’s hoping for the best.

“It upsets me that there are people out there who would do that kind of thing,” said Fitzpatrick. “Phoebe was saved once already and made it here, and was ready to find her forever home, then this happened.”

He said they have around 35 cats, but are fortunate to have only lost one.

In light of losing Phoebe, the cafe has decided to donate over $2,000 to the Safe Haven Animal Rescue to support their Trap-Neuter-Return program.
