An Arlington firefighter is in serious condition at a local hospital after being shot in the chest during a welfare check Friday morning, officials said.
City officials told Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV that the shooting happened at an apartment complex.
The firefighter was taken to Medical City Arlington, and is in serious but stable condition, WFAA reported.
An Arlington Fire Rescue spokesperson told the Star-Telegram that they will be releasing more details later Friday morning.
