Liverpool take on Man City, Dublin and Galway face off



Soccer

Sunday’s early Premier League game has gotten underway.

Fourth placed Aston Villa are entertaining Tottenham.

A win here for the visitors would see them go within two points of the automatic Champions League qualification spots.

In an hour’s time West Ham host strugglers Burnley and Brighton welcome Nottingham Forest to the Amex.

Then, at 3:45pm what could be a defining game in the title race takes place at Anfield.

Liverpool host champions Manchester City.

A win for either side would see them go above Arsenal and top of the table.


Celtic will look to book their place in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup today.

Brendan Rodgers’ side play Livingston as they look to make the last four.

Speaking ahead of this game Rogers has said he’s eager to win silverware and this is a massive opportunity for them.

However, he isn’t underestimating the task ahead this afternoon.

Kick-off in that game is at 2:30pm.

This evening, Hibernian host Rangers.

 

Rugby

There is one game in the Six Nations today with Wales at home to France from 3pm.

The French come into this with just one win so far this championship while Wales have lost their opening three games.

 

GAA

There are three games in Division 1A of the Allianz Hurling League this afternoon.

Kilkenny and Clare are both unbeaten so far – they face each other at Cusack Park in Ennis from 1:30pm.

In just a few minutes, Offaly play Cork in Tullamore from 1:15pm.

And at 3:30pm Waterford play Wexford at Walsh Park.

In Division 1B, Galway face Dublin at Pearse Stadium, that also throws in at 13:30pm.

 

Golf

Shane Lowry is in a tie for the lead heading into the final round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Florida

He’s 9-under-par alongside Scottie Scheffler and they’re both one clear of the chasing pack.

Rory McIlroy will be out from 5-under-par in a tie for 8th later on while Seamus Power is back on 1-under.


Tom McKibbin is 3-under-par thru 13 holes of his final round of the DP World Tour’s Jonsson Workwear Open in South Africa.

That leaves him 19-under-par all round, in a tie for 9th and three shots off the lead.

 

Racing

An eight race card is just getting underway at Naas.

While the first of seven races at Limerick goes to post at 2pm.
