Man missing from Yorktown suffers from ‘cognitive impairment,’ state police say


Virginia State Police have issued a senior alert for a man missing from Yorktown who suffers from a “cognitive impairment.”

State police and the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office are looking for 77-year-old James M. Hudgens, Jr. He is described as being 5’11” and 210 pounds, with green eyes and brown hair. He was last seen about 2:45 p.m. Thursday on Brentmeade Drive in Yorktown.

He was last seen wearing a green plaid long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and clogs, according to a news release. State police say it’s possible he’s driving a white 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup truck with Virginia plates paws2u. The truck also has Clemson Tigers stickers on the back window.

Hudgens “suffers from a cognitive impairment and the disappearance poses a credible threat to his health and safety,” according to state police.

Anyone with information on Hudgens’ location is asked to call the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office at 757-890-3621.
