A chaotic scene unfolded around Kansas City Union Station after shots were fired Wednesday during a Super Bowl victory celebration for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Eight to ten people have been injured from shots fired during the event, according to a fire department official. The severity of their injuries is unknown. The Kansas City Police Department said on X it has taken two armed people into custody for more investigation and has asked people to avoid the Union Station parking garage area to allow first responders through.
The Chiefs have won three Super Bowl titles in the past five years, but this is the first time that a victory celebration was marred by gunfire in the city.
