Ireland prepare to face Italy in the Six Nations

Ireland are looking to make it two wins from two in the Six Nations this afternoon.

Andy Farrell’s men are heavy favourites as they welcome Italy to the Aviva Stadium at 3pm.

A win for the Irish would see them join England in being the only two teams on course for the Grand Slam.

GAA

Waterford and Clare are looking to get their second wins of the new Allianz National Hurling League season this afternoon.

Davy Fitzgerald hosts his home county in their Division 1A clash. Throw in at Walsh Park is at 1.45pm.

In Division 1B, Tipperary and Galway face off in the game of the day. The action gets underway at Semple Stadium at 3.45pm.

Before that, Antrim host Dublin at 1.45pm, with Limerick visiting Westmeath at 2pm.

Soccer

Premier League

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he’s felt a sense of pride from the club this week following their Premier League win against Liverpool last Sunday.

The Gunners play West Ham this afternoon, with kick off at the London Stadium at 2pm.

The other game today sees sixth placed Manchester United come up against fifth placed Aston Villa.

That one gets underway at Villa Park at 4.30pm.

Africa Cup of Nations

Ivory Coast will look to become the first side since 2006 to win the Africa Cup of Nations as tournament hosts this evening.

Nigeria stand in their way as the Super Eagles look to win their first continental title since 2013.

Kick-off is at 8pm Irish time.

Scottish Cup

Celtic are looking to take a step forward in the Scottish Cup this afternoon.

The defending champions come up against St Mirren in the fifth round. Kick off in Paisley is at 2pm.

Later, Hearts travel to Championship side Airdrieonians at 5pm.
