The Kansas City Chiefs fan who hosted a watch party that resulted in three friends dying in the backyard is claiming he was “asleep on the couch” for two days.

As we reported, three Chiefs fans — David Harrington, 37, Ricky Johnson, 38, and Clayton McGeeney, 36 — were found dead in the backyard of a home that Jordan Willis rented to host a watch party for the Chiefs vs Chargers game on January 7.

It wasn’t until January 9 that the friends’ bodies were discovered.

Initially, Willis’s attorney claimed he watched the friends leave his house as he went to bed, however, that story changed when his lawyer then stated Willis never saw the friends leave and left them downstairs to “hang out.”

Willis also claims he didn’t know his friends’ bodies were in his backyard.

Now, the story is Willis “was asleep on the couch.”

“The last memory he has is of them leaving [out] the front door, he doesn’t know what happened, um, with them, until you know, when the police came Tuesday night to his house,” Willis’ lawyer John Picerno told The Post.

Willis’s attorney previously stated, “Jordan had absolutely nothing to do with their deaths. He does not know the timing or manner of their deaths, nor does he know how or when they exited his house.”

Police Do Not Suspect Foul Play In Missouri Mystery

Another thing that has victims’ families raising questions is the fact that they claimed they tried to contact Willis after the men went missing. Willis did admit that one of the wives reached out on Facebook Messenger, but he did not see the message until after the cops arrived and the bodies were found.

Police, however, “don’t suspect foul play, and it’s not treated as a homicide investigation,” John Picerno told the outlet.

The lawyer went on to suggest some possibilities that could have occurred, explaining that “It was really cold. You know, they could have gone out to get fresh air, they could have gone out to smoke a cigarette. Maybe the bathroom was occupied, they could have gone out to go to the bathroom, after a whole day of watching football, it was late at night.”

When asked if drugs could have played a part, the lawyer simply said, “There’s a chance of everything.”

A pending toxicology report will help answer more questions surrounding the mystery.

John Picerno went on to say how much Willis’s friends meant to him, stating that “They were his buddies… They hung out all the time, two of them he went to high school with.”

“If he could have helped them he would have helped them if they needed help,” the lawyer said on Willis’s behalf, adding, “He had no idea they were back there.”

Willis had also reportedly bought tickets to the Chief’s playoff game the next weekend against Miami for himself and his friends.

There have been no arrests or charges, and no one is in custody at this time.
