Firefighter flown to hospital by helicopter. What we know so far.


FALMOUTHFalmouth firefighters battled a three-alarm fire that erupted at a house on Rivers Edge Road in East Falmouth on Sunday.

One firefighter was flown by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital, Falmouth Fire Chief Timothy Smith said. Another with minor injuries was taken to Falmouth Hospital. The homeowners were not at home.

A spokesperson for the state Department of Fire Services said that State Police fire investigators assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s office and a Department of Fire Services rehab unit responded to support the Falmouth Fire Department.

Mutual aid from Sandwich and Hyannis were also spotted at the scene.
